DevCamp

On March 23rd and 24th our Nerd Zone DevCamp took place in Karlsruhe. Host of the camp was Gameforge AG. Over 100 participants have shared several themes of software development and were able to get in touch with local IT-companies such as Exxeta AG, Unic GmbH, Brandmaker GmbH, Der Punkt GmbH and Synyx GmbH.

Game development companies are “crime scenes” of a mystery game. IT-specialists are invited into the premises of the company to show up the “murder”. Each company provides information (technical problems, faulty algorithms, etc.), which must be dissolved in teams and following a puzzle to be put together to solve the case. Job-hopping Berlin

web on wheels is a cooperative event of IT companies and educational institutions in Berlin. As a part of Berlin Web Week on May 7th 2013 students and graduates get insights in career and prospects for personal growth. Serious Games Conference at CeBIT 2013

During “Serious Games Conference” on 08.03.2013, Lutz Leichsenring, managing director of the agency YOUNG TARGETS presents a workshop with a short presentation about “recrutainment”. CodeCaching is the scavenger hunt for techies in Karlsruhe. IT-students and specialists can download the free CodeCaching app for their android or apple device and start the search for QR-Codes in Karlsruhe. On the route they have to answer six tricky questions about Java, PHP or system administration. Impressions: HacKAthon 2012

Hackathon 2012 from Young Targets on Vimeo. Wikipedia says: A hackathon (also known as a hack day, hackfest or codefest) is an event in which computer programmers and others in the field of software development, like graphic designers, interface designers and project managers, collaborate intensively on software-related projects. At the Nerd-Zone HacKAthon in Karlsruhe more than 50 coder worked hard within 24 hours to program an app which should be useful for nerdy residential communities.
